I arrived in this city later than everyone else, but maybe it was the right time for me.
When I was a teenager, my friends went on a trip where the song Big City Life was their soundtrack. It’s a song I carry with me as a memory I never lived. Because I didn’t go. I stayed home. Today, though, I’m grateful I stayed.
Maybe I would have seen it through the wrong eyes. Because today I see it with a hunger to discover every corner of these streets, with the determination of someone who has worked hard to earn all of this, with self‑love. Because this place is now mine: completely and fiercely mine.

Durante l’adolescenza, le mie amiche fecero un viaggio in cui la canzone Big City Life fu la loro colonna sonora. Un brano che porto con me come un ricordo non vissuto. Perché io non ci andai. Io rimasi a casa. Oggi, però, sono grata di essere rimasta.
Forse l’avrei vissuta con gli occhi sbagliati. Perché oggi la vedo con la fame di scoprire ogni angolo delle strade, con la rabbia di chi ha sudato per meritarsi tutto questo, con l’amore per sé stessi. Perché questo posto è ora mio: pienamente e ferocemente mio.
